About the event

According to Saving Country Music, Caitlin Cannon is “not a songwriter for the winners; she's a songwriter for the broken, the downtrodden, the losers, the motherf—s. She sings about real sh— that most other songwriters don't have the guts to broach. A crack pool player and a hilarious person on stage who could have a second career as a comedian, Caitlin Cannon is one of those country artists that slides so criminally under the radar; it angers the blood…" While Cannon claimed victory at The Songwriter's Serenade in (2023), 3rd place in the Telluride Troubadour Contest (2023) and was a finalist in The American Songwriter Song Competition (2022) for “Amarillo and Little Rock”, her ambitions do align with the above review. In partnership with The Cultural Arts Alliance of Walton County she holds a residency at Walton Correctional Institution, crafting songs with inmates and says “it is the best thing I have ever done”. Cannon also collaborates with Soldiers, Songs and Voices to bring songwriting to war veterans. Her latest studio release’ Beggar’ (a four-song EP and standalone precursor to her forthcoming full-length album ‘Love Addict’—both produced by Misa Arriaga best known for his work with Kacey Musgraves and Willie Nelson) is all songwriting chops and vibe.
